Welcome to MB-Redir, the MusicBrainz redirect service.

This service takes MusicBrainz GIDs stored in Freebase and redirects you to the appropriate MusicBrainz page by looking up the type and formatting the URL appropriately.

Note that IDs can be provided in several forms:

• A full MusicBrainz key in the form "/authority/musicbrainz/c69338f8-45da-49bc-8be9-54df8e82f793"
• Any valid Freebase MID or ID, "/en/rolling_stones"
• Only the GID portion of a MusicBrainz key, "ef78739b-ea31-32e2-a927-58fe228c7354"
• A BFG-style key (used during Freebase data loads), "ngs:label/label_gid/39c4dc0c-badb-4ac3-b810-e4f374dff6d9"

Note that in the first three cases, a lookup to Freebase is required to determine the correct URL template from the type. If the ID is not found in Freebase, you will be taken to the MusicBrainz home page.

For the BFG-ID case, the /label_gid/ string is used to determine the type.

If you look up by a non-MusicBrainz ID, and the Freebase topic has multiple MusicBrainz IDs attached to it, then an arbitrary one will be returned. If it has no MusicBrainz keys, then you will be taken to the MusicBrainz homepage.

For debugging purposes, you can add the parameter debug=1 to the end of the URL. This will cause the URL to be output to your browser instead of redirecting.
